Side note: I've never driven a stock Nissan GT-R. As far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as a stock GT-R - never experienced one. What I have driven is a host of modified GT-Rs that range from mild to wild. I've toyed with the tame HKS600 and had my mind blown behind the wheel of a 2 000 hp Alpha Omega GT-R that is capable of 8-second quarter-mile passes. Thus, I feel I'm fairly qualified to point you in the right direction for some tasty modifications to make your GT-R something special.

So, without further ado, here are 5 Nissan GT-R accessories you didn't know you needed.
1. Carbon Ceramic Brakes
It's all good and well that your GT-R goes like stink, but what about stopping it? If you're planning any performance modifications, the first thing you should consider is an upgrade to the braking system. The AMS Alpha Performance R35 GT-R Carbon Ceramic Brake Package will not only see your GT-R fitted with F1-technology Carbon Ceramic Brakes (CCB) but will help reduce the unsprung and rotating mass by a whopping 28 kg.
This kit includes the CCB rotors, 7000-Series aluminium hats, braided lines and performance pads. You will retain your standard callipers and full handbrake functionality with this kit.

2. HKS Superior SpecR Exhaust
Eek a little more power out of your GT-R with the addition of an HKS Nissan R35 GTR Superior SpecR Exhaust system. This full titanium exhaust system will not only make your GT-R sound better but will improve performance by reducing exhaust backpressure and dropping the weight by as much as 10 kg. It's finished off in a set of stunning burnt titanium tips for added aesthetic appeal.
This system will be suitable for future performance upgrades as well. It's crafted from 85 mm titanium tubing with 4x 124 mm tips. Sound levels are recorded at 86/87 dB each side.

3. Sheptrans Stage 1 Gearbox
Browse any internet forum and you will see numerous accounts of modified GT-Rs running into gearbox issues. This was one of the first faults to rear its head after the GT-R was released with power-hungry experiencing failures after hard launches. The Sheptrans Stage 1 package is a mild rebuild that addresses the primary causes of premature gearbox failure.
The rebuild does require your gearbox to be supplied but local agents, NXGen can handle this with ease. It will see the replacement of piston shaft seals and retainers, new mechanical locks and billet ball retainers.

4. Alpha Performance Packages
Who doesn't want more power? You bought a GT-R because of the performance and not because of the way it looks. AMS offers several performance packages to help boost the power output of the VR38DETT engine. Packages start with the mild Alpha 6 package that will give your GT-R 600 hp (447 kW), up from the stock 485 hp (362 kW). The Alpha 7 package sees 700 hp while the insane Alpha Omega 12 is a package that is good for 1150 hp (860 kW) at the wheels with the Omega 22 delivering... you guessed it, 2200 hp!
The Omega packages include an AMS crate engine built to spec. The Omega packages rely heavily on supporting modifications and are best suited for track use only. The Alpha 6 and 7 packages are ideal for fast street cars.

5. Prior Design Widebody
