Latest Information on Pontiac GTO
The Pontiac GTO was a popular American muscle car. It was first built between 1964 and 1974 and reintroduced by Holden in Australia between 2004 and 2006. Prior to that it was known to be an option package on the Pontiac Tempest. Its name took inspiration from the successful race car, the Ferrari 250 GTO. It is also an Italian abbreviation for Gran Turismo Omologato. This is representative of the fact that the car is officially certified for racing in the grand tourer class. However, it was never registered as a """"Grand Tourer"""" certified race car. The GTO is one of the fastest cars Pontiac has produced.
