The original Escort was a small family car produced by Ford Europe between 1968 and 2004. The nameplate was also used on several models manufactured by Ford North America between 1968 to 2004. In 2014, the Chinese revived the name for a car based on the second-generation Focus. The Escorts of the first and second generation have rich history in motorsport. It has been the winning car in several rally’s. The Escort was a commercial success in the UK. Six years into production and it announced its two millionth unit. It was a massive milestone for a Ford model outside of the States.
