Second exhibition
The first Mega-T exhibition – which took place last year – played host to 80 exhibitors and enjoyed the patronage of almost 1,500 attendees.
This year sees Mega-T back bigger and better than ever, with a bumper line-up of exhibitors, a seminar with high-level speakers, a career element, and entertainment for children.
Hosted at the Diamantvallei Landgoed showgrounds, 20km east of Pretoria, the show runs from 5 to 7 October, allowing for family participation on the 7th (Saturday).
Powered by the RFA
Powered by The Road Freight Association (RFA), Mega-T is positioned as a cutting-edge business-to-business expo, offering benefits to newcomers and stalwarts of the industry alike.
Gavin Kelly, CEO of the RFA, observes that the industry is remarkable. “Owing to the Covid hangover, much of exhibition life was lost and along with it, the opportunity to network in any real sense. With the quality of exhibitors at this year’s show, there will be ample opportunity to share and contribute ideas in a meaningful way.
“The Mega-T Expo serves as a collaborative platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers to share their expertise and forge partnerships that will ensure the industry keeps moving forward. With a myriad of exhibitors – from trucks and trailers, tracking and security systems, parts and maintenance, through to financing and insurance, navigation and fleet management, refuelling, branding and media, this event offers an opportunity to explore an extensive range of products and services tailored to meet the diverse needs of the transport sector,” he points out.
Enormous potential
Exhibitor, Landmark Tracking, agrees the show has enormous potential. Says company director Johann Raubenheimer, “As a leading telematics solutions integrator and systems company, Landmark Tracking focuses on three key areas: multiple tracking solutions, dash cam and mobile camera solutions and intelligent fuel probe systems. There will be numerous demonstrations to illustrate the power of some of the solutions.”
If a “wheels-on” experience is more to a visitor’s liking, it is possible to take a ride in a truck with a real pro. Visitors can enjoy the hum of the engine – and they can get insight into the life of a truck driver.
Lots to see and do
Also look out for Proudly South African manufacturer and supplier Trail-Link and its expansive range of plugs, sockets, harnesses and accessories, which are now fitted as standard on leading OE brands in response to industry demand. At Mega-T, Trail-Link will display its locally manufactured electrical suzi coils and EBS/ABS braking coils, along with its red and yellow air coils.
Not to be missed is Knorr-Bremse with its state-of-the-art braking systems. With safety as a core focus, this world leader supplies airbrake products to most truck manufacturers.
Seminar on the cards
This year sees a seminar with high-level speakers alongside an innovative career segment. Recognising the importance of nurturing future talent and promoting the transport industry, the expo will incorporate educational elements to enlighten students about career prospects. “By inspiring and educating young minds, Mega-T aims to contribute to the growth and development of the industry while fostering a pipeline of skilled professionals,” Kelly adds.
Seminar speakers include Gavin Kelly, Nicci Scott (Founder of SaferStops), Johann Raubenheimer (Director of Landmark Tracking), Louis Stemmet (Brand Manager at National Fleet Assist), Jonathan Mphake (Fleet Manager at SBV) and Marna Roets (broker in alternative fleet and logistics insurance cover) covering topics such as fleet management, finance and the future of trucking.
On the lighter side, guests will enjoy the musical talents of Appel, Clint & Co, Prop, Ruan Nel, Rene Mabotha, Garth Collins and Etienne Smit during the Friday and Saturday programmes.
“Mega-T is a one-stop shop for the transport industry: it drives convenience, introduces dynamic products and solutions and sparks connections, allowing impactful conversations with peers undergoing similar challenges,” concludes Kelly.
Tickets cost R50 online and R100 at the gate. Entrance is free for children under 18 and for RFA members who book online. More details can be found at www.mega-t.co.za
