The CLAAS JAGUAR 1000: Redefining Forage Harvesting Power

In August 2025, CLAAS unveiled the JAGUAR 1000 series, a new generation of forage harvesters designed to push boundaries in capacity, technology, and operator comfort.

Where previous JAGUAR models were gradually refined, the 1000 marks a bold redesign aimed squarely at large-scale, high-demand operations. With engines delivering between 633kW and 820kW and a throughput of up to 500 tonnes per hour, the JAGUAR 1000 sets a new standard for what modern forage harvesting can achieve.

1. Power and Performance

The machine's heart is a 24-litre MAN V12 engine, mounted transversely to maximise torque and efficiency. CLAAS has paired this with its intelligent CEMOS Auto Performance and CEMOS Auto Crop Flow systems, which automatically balance engine load and crop intake to maintain optimum efficiency. This combination ensures that the harvester can keep running at peak output even under changing field conditions without sacrificing fuel economy.

2. Smarter Crop Flow

The JAGUAR 1000 boasts the widest crop flow channel ever seen in a CLAAS forage harvester. A fully hydraulic pre-compression system with four rollers ensures even feeding into the chopping drum, resulting in more consistent throughput. The pre-compression unit is service-friendly too, swivelling to allow easy access for maintenance. Together with the new V-FLEX knife drum and Multi Crop Cracker XL, the system delivers precise chopping and advanced grain processing, improving silage digestibility and feed quality.

3. Flexibility in the Field

Farmers will appreciate the JAGUAR’s flexibility when it comes to front attachments. New Pick Up 3800 and 4500 heads for grass and hay, and Orbis 9000 and 10500 corn heads provide a wide choice for different cropping systems. Independent variable drives allow intake speeds to be fine-tuned to conditions, while using gearboxes and PTO shafts instead of chain drives reduces wear and simplifies upkeep. This versatility makes the JAGUAR 1000 adaptable across crops and climates.


4. Automation and Precision

One of the most significant leaps forward lies in automation and digital integration. The Auto Fill system uses camera technology to control the spout, ensuring precise filling of trailers day or night. Sensors like the Nutrimeter measure dry matter content in real time, feeding data into the chopping system so that cut length can adjust automatically. All this information integrates into CLAAS’s digital platform, allowing operators and farm managers to generate yield maps, monitor forage quality, and connect harvesting data to wider precision farming systems.

5. Operator Comfort and Ergonomics

High-capacity harvesting means long days in the cab, and CLAAS has paid careful attention to operator comfort. The cab is quieter, more spacious, and designed for excellent visibility. Features like heated and cooled leather seats, joystick steering, and GPS-guided auto-steering reduce fatigue and make operation easier. The result is a machine that delivers on capacity and ensures the operator can perform at their best throughout the season.

Built for Durability

Durability remains central to the JAGUAR philosophy. With standard 4WD, intelligent drivetrain management, and the option of tyre pressure control, the harvester can handle a range of ground conditions while minimising soil compaction. Its simplified drive systems reduce the number of wear components, while service-friendly design ensures that maintenance is faster and less costly. These features are as valuable as raw horsepower for contractors and large-scale farms where downtime is expensive.

A New Era for Forage Harvesting

The CLAAS JAGUAR 1000 is more than just another step in the evolution of forage harvesters. It represents a shift toward machines that combine immense power with digital intelligence, designed to deliver higher throughput, better forage quality, and farm efficiency. Production begins in autumn 2025, and the JAGUAR 1000 will take centre stage at upcoming agricultural exhibitions. While its size and cost mean it won’t be suited to every farm, for those that need capacity, durability, and data-driven efficiency, the JAGUAR 1000 is set to become the new benchmark in forage harvesting.
