Mahindra Launches the Next-Generation OJA Tractor Range: A New Era of Smart Farming

Mahindra has officially unveiled its most ambitious global tractor platform to date: the Mahindra OJA. Derived from the Sanskrit word “Ojas,” meaning "Powerhouse of Energy," the OJA range is designed to redefine the sub-compact and compact tractor markets, focusing on high-tech innovation, operator comfort, and rugged reliability.

Developed through a collaboration between Mahindra Research Valley in India and Mitsubishi Mahindra Agricultural Machinery in Japan, these future-ready tractors are specifically engineered to handle the unique demands of lifestyle and small property owners.

1. The OJA 1100 Series: Small Size, Big Performance

The OJA 1100 series is Mahindra’s premier sub-compact offering, aimed at those who need a nimble machine that does not compromise on power. The lineup includes two key models: the OJA 1123 HST, powered by a 17kW 3-cylinder diesel engine, and the OJA 1126 HST, which features a 19kW 3-cylinder diesel engine. Both models are designed to provide maximum output in a compact frame, making them ideal for navigating tight spaces on smaller acreages.

2. Precision Control and Ease of Use

Driving these machines is made simple through the inclusion of a Hydrostatic Transmission (HST). This system uses pedal-operated driving, which makes the tractors incredibly easy to manoeuvre, even for beginners who may not be familiar with traditional gear shifting. Performance is further enhanced by smart hydraulics, including a button-operated Power Take-Off (PTO). This first-in-segment innovation simplifies implementation, allowing the driver to engage attachments with minimal effort.

3. Comfort and Ergonomics for the Modern Operator

The OJA range prioritises the driver experience through a heavily ergonomic design. The operator platform features a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel and a plush mComfort seat, with foldable armrests to reduce fatigue during long working hours. All levers and buttons are colour-coded and logically placed for intuitive operation, ensuring that every control is within easy reach.

4. Advanced Technology as Standard

Unlike traditional small tractors, the OJA range is packed with modern automotive-grade technology. High-intensity projector headlights ensure excellent visibility for early morning or late-night tasks, while a modern digital driver display provides clear, real-time information on the tractor's performance. These features elevate the OJA range beyond simple utility, offering a sophisticated user interface that mirrors modern vehicle standards.

5. Built for the Rugged Environment

Durability is at the heart of the OJA design, featuring a robust 4WD platform that allows the tractors to handle a range of terrain from muddy paddocks to manicured lawns. For those working in harsher climates, the larger OJA 2126 HST model offers an optional fully integrated HVAC cabin with heating and air conditioning, which is a rare premium feature in the compact class. With a loader lift capacity of 420 kg on the sub-compact models and up to 580kg on the larger units, these tractors are built for serious work.

6. Industry-Leading Peace of Mind

Mahindra is backing its new range with a market-leading warranty package to ensure long-term value and reliability for owners. This includes a 3-year bumper-to-bumper warranty coupled with an additional 6-year powertrain warranty.

7. A Significant Milestone for Mahindra

The introduction of the OJA 1100 and 2100 series marks a major step forward for the brand in the region. By combining Japanese engineering precision with Mahindra’s legendary "Built Tough" DNA, the OJA range offers farmers and lifestyle property owners a powerful, smart, and comfortable multitasking solution. There is no indication of local introduction just yet; the models have been introduced in Australia.
