This recipe has seen the Vario claim top prize at this year's Farm machine awards. More than 10,000 public votes were cast for this machine, a new record. We explore six reasons why this tractor impressed the public.
1. Unrivalled Power
There are two engine options available for the 1100 Series. These include a MAN 6-cylinder in-line engine that offers an enormous cubic capacity of 15.2 litres as well as a 16.2-litre version. The latter boasts a power output of around 502kW. Furthermore, a Common Rail system with an injection pressure of up to 2500 bar and a turbo-supercharger with variable turbine-geometry, delivers the power evenly and dynamically even at low engine speeds.
The new Fendt 1100 Vario MT is equipped with a 1 320-litre diesel tank as well as an AdBlue tank with a capacity of 135 litres. This offers enough space for longer working sessions without refuelling. All filling points are close to each other to help with refuelling and maintenance.
2. Vario Drive
The Fendt 1100 Vario MT is the first tracked tractor in its class to have a stepless drive. Engineers have revised the gearbox and adapted it precisely to the special requirements of a tracked tractor. Stepless drive between 0.02km/h and 40km/h ensures pure driving pleasure.
For those who are not familiar with Vario Drive, let us explain. VarioDrive is a variable drive powered by independently driven hydromotors. The drive train works with a hydrostatic-mechanical distribution of power. The diesel engine drives the planetary set. The ring gear, in turn, drives the hydropump. The hydropump then supplies two hydromotors.This means Fendt VarioDrive ensures permanent traction and works efficiently even at higher speeds.
3. On track with Tracked Drive
The tracked drive system of the new Fendt 1100 Vario MT is the result of more than 30 years' experience with tracked tractors. The drive has a suspension and chassis configuration designed for comfort. Furthermore, the 3000mm wheelbase allows for an extremely large contact surface. This means more traction, less soil pressure and an optimal weight distribution across the entire contact area even in the case of a heavy load. And, of course, optimised driving comfort. The tracks establish contact between the tractor and the ground. They are the key to power transfer to the ground and the Fendt 1100 Vario MT offers the widest selection of treads on the market.
4. SmartRide+
You can control two hydraulic cylinders from the cab to ensure that your Fendt 1100 Vario MT is always perfectly levelled. This is great when working with heavy attachments – if the tractor's centre of gravity shifts to the rear due to high traction requirements, you can restore the correct levelling by pressing a button on the armrest. The travel of the SmartRide+ suspension is also optimised in both directions.
5. PTO and lift capacity
In order to efficiently use the power of the MAN engine for the PTO-operated attachments, the PTO on the Fendt 1100 Vario MT is connected straight to the crankshaft. There is just one gear level in between. For maximum efficiency. When it comes to hydraulics, Fend offers two options. Customers can choose between a 220 l/min single pump or 2-circuit hydraulics with up to 440 l/min. The optional 2-circuit hydraulics system allows two driven units to be supplied with different amounts of pressure and oil flow.

A modern and comfortable workplace awaits operators in the Fendt 1100 Vario MT.
