Volkswagen T-Roc 2.0TSI R-Line (2021) - Is it a worthy successor to the Jetta?

We get to grips with the new, high-performance Volkswagen T-Roc 2.0TSI 140 kW 4Motion R-Line and while we enjoyed the power and technology, we felt something was amiss.

If you're looking for a new Jetta, we have bad news for you; locally, it's been replaced by the Volkswagen T-Roc, a high-riding compact SUV that better aligns with consumer demand for crossovers and compact SUVs.

We've had the run-of-the-mill Volkswagen T-Roc for some time now, but the new, high-performance 2.0TSI R-Line is a whole other ball game. It's crammed with tech and is as safe as houses, but we can't help but feel that there are a few critical oversights. What do you say? "Come here, T-Roc.", or "Bring back the Jetta!"?
