Despite rising costs in South Africa, used car sales remain strong because mobility is an absolute necessity for anyone in our beautiful land. Whether you're a business owner or someone who just needs wheels to move about. It also helps that we have a wide range of vehicles to choose from, with different body styles, propulsion systems, and use cases to boot. With this in mind, we consulted our annual industry report to see which cars are among the quickest-selling, moving in and around 30 days. We found 10 vehicles that fit this bill. You may wonder why this matters, but if you're buying a car, at some point you'll want to sell it, and the faster it sells, the higher the demand, and vice versa. Suffice to say, being on this list is a good thing.

What can we see here?

According to our 2025 Industry Report, the Suzuki Swift is, by far, the quickest-selling car. The Swift is at the forefront of the compact budget hatchback segment with its attractive price, low running costs and dependability, making it a no-brainer for students, businesses and people just needing a small runabout. From ranks 2-5, it's what you'd expect, with bakkies mostly occupying these spots, since many buyers need these vehicles for utility purposes. Interestingly, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class was the only luxury vehicle here to sell quickly. On the SUV front, Toyota takes home the biltong here with the Fortuner and Corolla Cross, and these are among their best-selling models overall. Covering the rest of the hatchback front, the Toyota Starlet and Volkswagen Polo range also move quickly. South Africans love a good Volkswagen, so naturally, they'd sell quickly.

We've included links for each vehicle listed here so you can see what's for sale on AutoTrader.
