Once you discover one of these blemishes it doesn't have to be world-ending, if you have scratch and dent insurance you can have the blemish sorted in short order but what is it and should you have it?

Coverage

Scratch and dent insurance is an insurance package that you can take out or include in your current portfolio that covers damages to your vehicle in the event of, as the name implies, scratches and dents that blemish your paint and bodywork. Your insurance provider will assess your risk factor by taking into account where your vehicle is located, its type and its usage as well as your personal insurance history., as an example if you live in a rural area that has gravel roads and is prone to hail storms your costs may be higher than that of an individual that has a 4x4 that lives in the suburbs, never takes that vehicle offroad and keeps it in a garage.

Is it worth having?

In short yes, it definitely can't hurt for the peace of mind of knowing that you can have your car repaired and you won't be too far out of pocket.
