The popularity of the first, second and third generation of Ford’s Focus model locally appeared to wane with each passing generation, leading the American manufacturer to decide against bringing the latest generation of its hatchback to South Africa. Ford also cited local fuel quality and pricing as other issues taken into consideration.
At the time of writing, there were nearly 300 pre-owned third-generation Ford Focus models listed for sale on AutoTrader, meaning that various specifications, engines, price and mileage options are available to you as a consumer. Since the Focus is considered a ‘global car’ by Ford, it was exceptionally well-engineered and is likely to provide many years of reliable service, making it a solid used proposition, especially when factoring in depreciation which has made this a very affordable car.
