The Honda Jazz is a cool and funky city car that has been a hit with young professionals all over the world for almost a decade. We take a look at how easy it is to replace a burnt out headlamp bulb in few easy steps.

Jazz it up

Whether you have an old or a new Honda Jazz you will eventually be faced with the need to replace one or both of your headlight bulbs. This is not an extremely complicated job and with a bit of perseverance you can tackle this DIY job right at home and save yourself a few hundred rand in labour costs and time.

You will need:

  • Bulbs for your year model
  • Soft cloth

Let's get to it!

  • Locate the back of the headlight cluster in the engine bay.
  • Find the rubber cap that covers the bulb housing and remove the connector plug from the back of the bulb.
  • Remove the rubber cap by pulling upward on the tabs.
  • Locate the spring clip that secures the bulb in place and unclip it.
  • Carefully remove the old bulb.
  • Insert new bulb into the housing and replace the spring clip, securing the bulb in place.
  • Replace the electrical plug and put the bulb cover back.

PRO TIP: Make sure not to touch the glass of the bulb as oils on your skin transfer onto the bulb and burn into place. If you do touch the glass make sure to wipe it down with the soft cloth before installing.
