It is very unfortunate that the CC went the same way as many of VW's sedan here South Africa. Introduced into SA in the mid 2000's the CC was a stylish and handsome 4-door sedan that employed comfort over all else. Sadly it was removed from sale after only a few years and now you can only find these on second hand car lots.

Should you happen to pick one you may find that a battery replacement is in order but you need not worry because this is an easy spot of DIY that can be done with minimal tools and a few minutes, and we can show you how it's done.

 

You will need:

  • Replacement battery of correct amperage
  • 13mm, 10mm sockets with extension and ratchet

 

Let's get it done

 

1. Open the bonnet

 

2. Locate the battery and remove the cover

 

3. Using the 13mm socket and extension, remove the hold down bracket at the base of the battery

 

4. Using the 10mm socket and ratchet remove the positive terminal

 

5. Remove the negative terminal

 

6. Exchange battery

 

7. Reassemble in reverse order and replace cover
