Replacing the battery in your Ford Figo is a quick and easy way to carry out DIY maintenance. We show you how to do just that in a few easy steps

Ford may offer an extended warranty on the Figo but it doesn't cover wear and tear items like exhausts or batteries. Your Figo may need a new battery and you can save yourself a trip to the local battery centre by replacing it yourself.
You can tackle this simple task right at home with minimal tools and we will show you how you can do it in just a few easy steps.
You will need:
- New battery for your model (correct cold cranking amps)
- 10mm, 12mm, 13mm, 14mm wrenches
Let's get started!
- Open the bonnet and locate the battery
- Depending on model use the appropriate sized wrench to remove the battery hold down
- Use appropriate size wrench to remove the negative terminal
- Use appropriate size wrench to remove the positive terminal
- Lift old battery out
- Put the new battery in and connect the terminals in reverse order, positive first then negative
- Install battery hold-down.
- Ensure that everything is secure and tightened down.
