How to replace the car battery in a Hyundai Creta
To a lucky few, replacing a battery is second nature. But what if you have ten thumbs and no workshop manual? We show you how to remove a Hyundai Creta’s starter battery.
Want to remove your Creta’s battery and install a replacement? This is how to do it.
You will need:
A 10mm spanner or socket, and a 13mm socket with extension.
Here we go:
1. Open the bonnet and make sure the stand is secure.
2. Locate the battery inside the engine bay – it’s in the top, right-hand position and has a blue terminal on the right.
3. Using the 10mm socket or spanner, loosen the small nut on the (blue) negative battery connector, also known as a terminal.
4. On the opposite end of the battery, open the small lid marked with a red positive sign – it’s the same as a plus sign.
5. Using the same spanner or socket, loosen the nut that the arrow on the photo points to. Remove the small plastic case and lid together with the terminal wire (they remain attached to each other).
7. Lift the plastic handles that are flush with the top of the battery. Grip both firmly and lift the battery out of the engine bay.
8. Install the new battery and replace all the parts in reverse order.
