The Renault Kwid is becoming the city car of choice for those sticking to a budget, the chances of being stuck on the side of the road with a flat wheel become much greater when you have small tyre sizes like those found on the Kwid. Never fear though as we have a handy guide to help you out should you find yourself stuck with a flat.

You're Kwiding me!

Getting a flat is inevitable, especially if you consider the state of South African roads. With a vehicle that is becoming as popular as the Renault Kwid, the chances are much higher that you will eventually get one due to the smaller tyre size. Being able to self-rescue is a must and we show you how to replace a flat wheel with the spare.

You won't be needing any special tools, just what is supplied in the vehicles emergency kit.

Let's get it done!

  1. Make sure the vehicle is on a flat level surface and that the hand brake is engaged
  2. Retrieve the car jack and wheel spanner fro the boot
  3. Fit the jack near the approved lifting point on the undercarriage and take the weight off of the flat wheel
  4. Use the wheel spanner to remove the wheel bolts
  5. Place the spare onto the wheel hub and tighten the wheel bolts
  6. Lower the car down and give the wheel bolts a once over to ensure that they are sufficiently tight
  7. Place the flat wheel in the boot along with the tools and be on your way

Make sure to get the flat repaired as soon as possible and put the spare back.
