Requirements

Jack

Wrench

Spare wheel

Time

It should take you about half an hour.

Step-by-step guide

1. If you have a blow-out or puncture on the road, turn on your hazard lights and pull over to where its safe.

2. Take out your wrench, jack, and spare wheel from the boot and put it where you need it.

3. Use your wrench to loosen the lug nuts slightly.

4. Insert the jack into the relevant ports under the car and use it to lift the vehicle off the ground. The tyre should be at least 15 cm off the ground.

5. Remove the lug nuts and pull the tyre off. Keep your lug nuts safe and secure and make sure they don’t roll away. Also, pull the tyre straight toward yourself to remove it from the base.

6. Place the spare wheel on the base and push it all the way back until it can’t go any further.

7. Place your lug nuts in and secure them just enough to hold the wheel comfortably to the car.

8. Using the jack, lower your car back to the ground and remove the jack.

9. Now tighten the lug nuts as much as you can.

10. Place your flat tyre and tools back into your boot and you can make your way back onto the road.
