Luxury flatliner

The BMW X5 is a very popular luxury SUV that can handle just about anything suburbia and light off road use can throw at it, that doesn't mean however that it is immune to getting a flat wheel. If you don't have cell phone reception and cant get a hold of BMW on Call you are going to have to self rescue and we will show you how.

Let's get it done!

  1. Make sure the vehicle is on a flat level surface and that the hand brake is engaged
  2. Retrieve the car jack, spare wheel and wheel spanner from the boot. You will need to use the BMW supplied unit as any other jack may not have sufficient height to lift the vehicle.
  3. Fit the jack near the approved lifting point on the undercarriage and take the weight off of the flat wheel
  4. Use the wheel spanner and locknut tool to remove the wheel bolts
  5. Place the space saver spare wheel onto the wheel hub and tighten the wheel bolts
  6. Lower the car down and give the wheel bolts a once over to ensure that they are sufficiently tight
  7. Place the flat wheel in the boot along with the tools and be on your way

Make sure to get the flat repaired as soon as possible and put the spare back. You can watch our video on why wheels go flat, hereif you want to know more.
