Light it up
If you were lucky enough to find a Maserati Quattroporte on the second hand market and feel that you have the necessary skills to do your own maintenance. you way want to tackle changing out a burnt out headlight bulb yourself. This does require a bit of technical savvy and a few tools but with some determination you can get this done.
The Maserati doesn't make use of traditional halogen bulbs but rather High Intensity Discharge bulbs. These require a ballast and A LOT of current so be careful!.

In order to access the bulbs you will need to remove the front wheels and the fender liners but thats no big deal for a committed DIY'er!
You will need:

- Plastic Pushpin removal tool
- Cars toolkit
Let's get started:
1. You will need the car's toolkit to jack up the car and remove the wheel behind the headlight you need to work on.

2. Using the screwdriver remove the 6 screws holding the fender liner in place

3. Don't forget the plastic pushpins

4. Once the fender liner is removed you can access the cover plate for the headlight cluster.

5. Remove the plate by unlocking the clamps.

6. You will now see the HID ballast, turn this anti-clockwise to remove it from the headlight cluster.

7. Install your new headlight bulb into the cluster paying close attention to the pin cutouts.

8. Replace the HID ballast and rotate clockwise to clip it into place

9. Reconnect the plug to the ballast.

10. Reassemble everything in the reverse order and repeat on the opposite side.
