The Ghibli name has been a part of Maserati for over 50 years, first debuting at the Turin Motorshow in 1966. The 1967 year model Maserati Ghibli, Type AM115, had a 4.7-litre V8 and either a 5-speed manual or a 3-speed auto gearbox. The Ghibli is now in its third generation.
The current Ghibli, Type M157, is available in three power levels and includes a diesel version - a first for Maserati. You can have the Ghibli in the conservative Ghibli, the firebreathing Ghibli S or economical Ghibli Diesel. Furthermore, the levels of sport and luxury vary between the GranLusso or GranSport trims.

Here are 5 stand-out features of the current generation Maserati Ghibli.
1. Only V6s.
The Ghibli is powered by a V6 engine - in all versions, either petrol or diesel. In the regular Ghibli, it's a 260 kW / 500 Nm affair while you will get 205 kW and 600 Nm from the Diesel. The most powerful version is the Ghibli S with 320 kW and 580 Nm.
2. Built by Ferrari.
The 2.9-litre V6 uses a 60-degree split and was designed by Ferrari. In fact, the engines are built and assembled by Ferrari in their Maranello manufacturer plant.
3. A long history with ZF.
The Ghibli uses an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. All models use this gearbox and the relationship with ZF dates back to the original Ghibli where ZF manufactured the 5-speed manual gearbox that was used in te first generation.
4. All-Wheel Drive.
The Ghibli S is available with all-wheel drive in the Ghibli S Q4 model but this combination is only available in left-hand drive which means that although it is an existing model, it's not available in our market.
5. Full-LED Adaptive Matrix headlights.
Both the GranLusso and GranSport trims are fitted with full-LED Matrix headlights. These headlights give you twice the amount of vision with a beam that shines 55-meters further than traditional halogen headlight beams.
