Clean and Clear
Ensuring that you have a clean and clear, unobstructed view of the road ahead is probably the most important aspect of motoring safety (a working set of brakes also helps!). This is the job of the windscreen wipers and, in conjunction with the washer fluid, can help ensure that your vision is unimpaired, no matter the weather.

Wiper blades are made from rubber; over time, this rubber will harden and deteriorate to the point where the wiper blades are no longer effective. This cannot be repaired, and it's best to replace the blades with a new set with fresh rubber.
This is a relatively inexpensive repair and doesn't even require special tools or take much time. So roll up your sleeves, and let's show you how to do it yourself.

You will need:
A new set of wiper blades, correct for your model. Enquire at your local parts store for the correct fitment. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class uses a specific Mercedes-Benz fitment.

Let's get it done
1. Lift the arm of the windscreen wiper.
2. Pinch the retaining clip between your forefinger and thumb.
3. Pull the clip away and up from the base of the wiper arm.
4. Insert the new blade in the reverse of the removal.
5. Repeat for the other arm.
6. Start the car and test the wiper blades.
