How to change wiper blades on a Ford Ranger

Ford Rangers are designed to tackle the wilds of nature and the even wilder side of suburban living. All the constant environmental changes can mean that your Rangers wiper blades will need to be changed regularly and we show you how to do this in a few easy steps.

Clear as day

The windshield wipers on your Ford Ranger is exposed to all manner of contaminants, from rain and mud to dust and in some lucky cases snow. It's no surprise then that they will need to be changed out once a year as the seasons change to ensure that you get optimum performance and the cleanest windshield you can get.

Changing them out is a quick and easy job that you can do right at home with no tools required, and we will show you how.

You will need:

• New windshield wipers in the correct length for your year and model
• Soft cloth

Let's get started!

1. Start on the driver's side and lift the wiper arm up into its service position. It should lock into place
2. Rotate the wiper blade into a horizontal position revealing the locking clip
3. Push the clip and pull the blade downwards, releasing the old wiper blade
4. Get the new wiper blade and rotate the locking pin into a horizontal position
5. Slide the wiper blade back up into the wiper arm until it clicks into place.
6. Give the base of the windshield a wipe down with the soft cloth to remove any dirt and debris.
7. Return the wiper arm to its running position.
8. Repeat on the passenger side.
9. Test the system with water or the onboard washer system.

It's as simple as that, do not, however, run the system dry as this could lead to premature damage of your new wiper blades.
