Getting a flat is inevitable, especially if you frequent industrial areas. With a vehicle such as the Tata Xenon its the most likely place that you will pick up a puncture. Being able to self-rescue is a must and we show you how to replace a flat wheel with the spare.

Getting a flat is inevitable, especially if you frequent industrial areas. With a vehicle such as the Tata Xenon its the most likely place that you will pick up a puncture. Being able to self-rescue is a must and we show you how to replace a flat wheel with the spare.

You won't be needing any special tools, just what is supplied in the vehicles emergency kit.

Let's get started!

1. First, you will need to retrieve the tool kit and jack from underneath or behind the seats.
2. You will need the jack, extension pole and wheel spanner.
3. Make sure the vehicle is on relatively level ground.
4. Using the wheel spanner, loosen the wheel nuts of the offending wheel
5. Place the jack under the corner of the car and using the extension pole and wheel spanner combination, jack up the vehicle.
6. Locate the small hole near the number plate and slide the extension pole into it until it meets with the geared mechanism that holds the spare wheel underneath the car.
7. Crank the mechanism, lowering the spare wheel down from underneath the car.
8. Unhook the spare and roll it over to the offending wheel.
9. Remove the wheel nuts completely and change out the flat wheel for the spare.
10. Lower the vehicle down and cinch up the wheel nuts.
11. Put the flat wheel in the spare wheel space. repair as soon as possible.

Although this may be somewhat labour intensive it is rewarding to be able to help yourself out of a sticky situation and you will be back on the road in no time.
