How often should a Proton X50 be serviced?

New entrant into the mid-size crossover segment, Proton, has quite a bit to offer drivers but how often do you need to service the X50? We checked the documentation to find out.

Car Ownership

A question of service

The Proton X50 is the latest entrant into the mid-size crossover SUV market in South Africa. It enters a market segment stiff with competition that requires a decent offering to stand out from the crowd. The Proton does that by having a generous standard specification offering that includes driver-focused tech and a spritely engine and transmission.

Proton also offers a comprehensive warranty that will give consumers peace of mind during the day-to-day commute as well as a decent service plan, but when and how often should you service your X50?

Interval

Proton SA offers a 5-year / 80 000km service plan with every new X50 sold. Although much of the literature does not indicate a service interval per se, you can bargain on the industry-accepted standard service interval distance of 10 - 12000km.

We highly advise sticking to the lower end to stay within the manufacturer's warranty and keep your Proton running in tip-top shape.
