6 Land Rover Range Rover Sport accessories you didn’t know you needed.

We compile a list of just six of the many accessories you should consider for your Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

Car Ownership

If you are considering a new Land Rover Range Rover Sport, you are already spoiled for choice as at the time of writing this article, 10 derivatives are on offer. The range starts with the SE TDV6 variant and progressively builds up to the flagship SVR Carbon Edition, the latter offering customers the style and comfort associated with the British SUV as well as 423 kW and 700 Nm of torque from a 5.0-litre, supercharged, V8 petrol engine.

While even on the entry-level derivative you won't necessarily be left wanting for more, the British automaker does offer a large variety of accessories to go along with the Land Rover Range Rover Sport. We have gone through the list and compiled what we think is the six accessories you should consider for your Land Rover Range Rover Sport.

1. Wheels

While the units on the flagship SVR Carbon Edition perfectly complements the sporty nature of the vehicle, on the lower specified derivatives you might want to swap out the standard wheels for more dramatic or even larger iterations. When we checked there were 17 different wheel options ranging in sizes between 19- and 22-inches. These include more classic and refined designs as well as more aggressive styles.

2. Side steps

The Land Rover Range Rover is quite a large vehicle and for some, it can become a bit tedious getting in and out. For this, the British form offers a variety of side step options and there are even electromechanical side steps available that deploy when the vehicle is static and the door is opened. These units are hidden underneath the vehicle and only appear when needed. Customers should not that fitting any kind of side step could alter the ground clearance of a vehicle and as such the break-over angle too.

3. Roof box

Also available from the Land Rover Range Rover Sport catalogue is a roof-mounted storage box. The storage box is aerodynamically designed to minimise drag and wind noises. Measuring 1 704mm long, 861mm wide, 448mm high, the sleek gloss black roof box provides 400-litres of additional luggage space, however, owners should keep the weight of the luggage below the maximum 75kg. The box is locked into place and offers a lock on both of the opening sides to keep the contents secure.

The roof box is TUV approved and meets City Crash test requirements. The only possible problem that could occur is that it could reduce the signal strength of the satellite antenna which could affect the navigation and satellite radio systems. But if you are using your phone paired to the infotainment system, you shouldn't have a problem.

4. Bicycle carrier

Another item that could free up space in the luggage compartment of your Land Rover Range Rover Sport is the bicycle carrier. The carrier attaches to the vehicle via the tow bar and allows for up to two bicycles of no more than 20 kg each to be loaded and transported safely. Once again this system offers locks to ensure the safety of the carrier and the bicycles. Also if you need to access the boot, no problem as it offers a foot pedal that allows the unit to tilt away from the tailgate providing easy access. A larger unit which carries three bicycles is also available.

5. Pet access ramp

Now that all that space in the luggage compartment has been freed up with the roof box and bicycle carrier, it means that you can bring along the family pet on your adventures. To make it a little easier for your smaller pets to get in and out of the vehicle and mitigate any scratches caused by the claws or paws, Land Rover Range Rover has added a pet access ramp to its accessories catalogue.

The ramp which features aluminium side panels a high grip tread pattern on the plastic centre section offers rubber feet for the bottom and connects securely to the loadspace loops to ensure the ramp doesn't slip while the pet is making its way up or down. Note that the ramp is only suitable for pets weighing under 85kg.

6. Luggage partition

Want to avoid luggage from flying into the passenger cabin under heavy breaking or prevent your pet from climbing onto the premium leather seats. You might want to consider this luggage partition. The partition is made offers a strong steel grid and perfectly fits the rear of the luggage compartment. The unit also offers a small hatch should you need to load longer items.
