With a new version of BMW's entry-level 1 Series offering soon to arrive, there should be a host of previous gen models available. When buying one of these cars you may be thinking about upgrading your ride with a few extras. We've gathered together 5 aftermarket products that you can retrofit to your 1 series to really put your stamp on your ride.

1. Floor-mats

Once you've bought your 1 series the easiest thing you can do to protect your interior is to get a set of good quality car floor-mats. These can either be made from a hard wearing rubber or from close grain carpeting material.

2. Infotainment System

The BMW iDrive system does very well on its own but there are a host of aftermarket systems that can be integrated into your existing setup that can expand the capabilities of your system to things such as GPS,  Apple Car Play or Android Auto.

3. Bike Rack

For those who embrace a healthy lifestyle, biking is the easiest way to get fit while enjoying the outdoors. You can carry your bike of choice on a set of roof mounted bike racks or go for the tow bar mounted version however, you will sacrifice boot access with the latter.

4. Cargo Liner

A hard wearing cargo area liner made of rubber or close grained nylon, will protect the boot carpeting from muddy shoes and dirty bike gear, when you're done with a hard day of tearing up the trails on your bike.

5. Performance Exhaust

You can give your 1 Series a throaty growl by fitting a genuine M Sport exhaust or find an aftermarket version that could free up some horsepower or quieten things down if you live in a complex. Genuine parts will not be cheap but they will extend the life and likely add value to your car.
