Mercedes-Benz recently halted the production of the X-Class, however, if your own one of these pick-ups and would like to spruce it up a bit, you can visit your local dealership to inquire about genuine accessories. We take a closer look at 3 accessories for your Mercedes-Benz X-Class you didn't know you needed.
The Mercedes-Benz X-Class made its first local appearance during 2017 and was met with excitement. The model was developed alongside the Nissan Navara and shared underpinnings such as an engine, suspension. This the main reason why the local market did not respond favourably to the new offering as even though it offered a more premium cabin and unique styling upfront and at the rear, it didn't justify the price for local buyers.

Mercedes-Benz later introduced a V6 diesel model, the X350d, which in itself was a completely different proposition as this was an original Mercedes-Benz engine. Mercedes-Benz also employed the help from the specialist at AMG to set up the suspension on the new derivative. This, however, did not mitigate the halt on production and if you want to purchase one today, you need to search for used Mercedes-Benz X-Class examples.
1. Nudge bar
One of the first items on the list of any pick-up owner is fitting a nudge bar. Unlike some examples you might find in the aftermarket, the genuine Mercedes-Benz X-Class nudge bar wraps underneath the front of the X-Class to provide additional protection. Also, some aftermarket nudge bars will compromise the safety, lighting and technology systems that feature upfront, this doesn't.
The nudge bar is constructed using a 76mm diameter main tube with 70mm steel tubes for shielding the underbody. Customers can have the nudge bar finished in either polished stainless steel or black gloss finish.
2. Underbody protection
For those avid 4x4 enthusiasts, the fitment of an underbody protection plate is of utmost importance. Although this item might not do much in terms of aesthetics, it does, however, protect engine components from sharp rocks or tree stumps while navigating rough terrain. This particular kit comes in three panels, the first two parts are 3mm thick steel and the third panel which covers the transmission is 2mm thick.
3. Sliding floor
Any pick-up owner will know the hassle of stowing cargo deep inside the load bay. You either have to try and reach over the side or climb on to the back in order to access this area. To mitigate this, you can have a heavy-duty sliding floor installed. This makes it easier when you need to quickly and easily access your cargo.
The sliding floor can carry up to 350 kilograms and slides out of the load bed when required. Also featuring on the sliding floor is its own adjustable tie-down points, making securing your luggage easier in the process.
