Which Toyota Aygo Trim Depreciates The Fastest

Before you get into a new car, you want to know how much of its value will be retained over the years. We look at the Toyota Aygo and see which derivative holds its value the best.

The first Aygo was launched in 2005 and enjoyed a fair amount of success as people slowly started seeing the value in a small, economical city runabout. For those that spent most of their time buzzing in and around the urban environment, the little Toyota Aygo offered them exactly what they needed.

Now in its second generation (the AB40 model code), the Aygo is fresh and funky and a whole lot of fun to drive.

We're looking at their average market value, based on trim level, over the last four years to see who the winners and losers are in the depreciation battle. Do note that these averages do not take into account the vehicle mileage, condition and any optional extras that may have been fitted to the car at the time of sale.

There were four primary trim levels, Aygo X-Cite, Aygo X-Play, Aygo Fresh and the Aygo 1.0. We look at their current retail price versus their market value.

Verdict:

The numbers suggest that the top-of-the-range X-Cite model is the variant that retains the most value on the second-hand market with a slightly higher value over its lower-spec counterparts. 

That said, the variance is minimal and the smart buy would probably get a lower mileage X-Play model for a steal as the demand for the X-Cite model tends to be greater.
