What is the cheapest Porsche car?

While not associated with the word 'cheap', premium automaker Porsche, like any manufacturer, have both the cheapest and most expensive models with their respective ranges. Let's focus on the former today.

Buying a Car

From tractors to iconic sports cars, to dynamically impressive SUVs and electric cars, Porsche has produced some of the finest machines you are likely to come across. If you are in the market for a Porsche but are not sure as to which is the most affordable option in each segment, the list below will be of assistance.

SUV

The Macan is both the brand's most attainable product and its most compact SUV. Under the bonnet of the most affordable model is a 2.0-litre turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 195 kW and 400 Nm of torque which is sent through all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Price: R 1 050 000

Sedan

Despite the decline in popularity of the saloon car, there is no denying that Porsche's interpretation of a large sedan, the Panamera, is a deeply impressive product. The most affordable variant of the range is the regular Panamera derivative which is powered by a potent twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 petrol engine that produces 243kW and 450Nm of torque.

Price: R 1 622 000

Coupé

As bizarre as it sounds, this list will not include a 911, as the most affordable coupe in the Porsche line-up is the Cayman GTS, which features a glorious 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine and one of the best chassis you are ever likely to experience.

Price: R1 470 000

Cabriolet

As a drop-top version of the Cayman, the Boxster GTS features the same 4.0-litre flat-six engine and chassis as its coupe sibling, but with the advantage of infinite headroom.

Price: R 1 510 000

Electric

As the brand's first electric vehicle in well over a century, the Taycan is one of the most advanced vehicles on the road, with an 800-volt architecture, a 2-speed gearbox and dynamic that appear to defy physics. The most affordable Porsche EV is the standard Taycan.

Price: R 2 262 000
