Leasing a car is a popular way of attaining personal mobility in many countries, however, as South Africans, generally speaking, we prefer to take out a loan with a financial institution and pay a vehicle off over a two to seven-year period. As a long-term ownership proposition, financing is the answer, however, what about those of us who change cars regularly and want an all-inclusive package? This is where leasing can be highly beneficial. We found a local car leasing company called Pace Fleet Services and went about looking at which vehicles are the cheapest to lease across three categories, namely 'Car', 'SUV', and 'Bakkie'.
Car
When looking at the car category, the cheapest model offered was the Renault Kwid at R5 013 per month over 12 months, R4 940 over 18 months, and R4 869 over 24 months, with a R9 900 deposit that can be refunded at the end of the term.
SUV
In the SUV category, the brand offers the Nissan X-Trail, with a required refundable deposit of R19 200 and monthly installments of R13 738 per month over 12 months, R13 540 per month over 18 months, and R13 344 per month over 24 months.
Bakkie
When looking at bakkies, the Nissan NP200 is the most affordable to least, with a R9 600 refundable deposit and monthly payments of R7 204 over 12 months, R7 109 over 18 months, and R7 016 over 24 months.
