With prices starting at R159 900 at the time of writing, the Super Carry is the cheapest new bakkie that you can purchase locally, however, this product is about as basic as it gets and will only be used for commercial applications.
Extended cab
Ford Ranger
The Ford Ranger 2.2TDCi SuperCab Hi-Rider is the most affordable new extended cab bakkie locally, with pricing at the time of writing being R412 800, just undercutting the Isuzu D-Max 1.9TD Extended cab by a few thousand Rands.
Double cab
GWM Steed 5
Those in the market for the cheapest new double cab bakkie in South Africa will have to opt for the GWM Steed 5 2.2MPi double cab, which at the time of writing was listed at R235 900.
