French brand Renault has been scaling back their offerings across the board, rather seeking to concentrate on their crossover and SUV segments. That doesn't mean that they arent making any other types of vehicles and that can be seen in one of their last product launches of 2022, the new Clio.

The latest Clio exudes every bit of French styling and features some of their latest tech and styling cues but a chequered history still follow them to this day which is rather undeserved. Renault has sought to turn the tide and offers a very thorough warranty with every model they sell.

Let's take a look at the warrant attached to the new Clio 5

The Warranty

Renault New Vehicle Warranty cover begins on the date of delivery of the vehicle to the customer. The date of delivery is specified on the Warranty and Service Sheet provided by the Renault Dealer during the new vehicle handover, and the cover is for a period of 5 years or 150 000 km's , whichever comes first.

What it does not cover

Damage arising from the vehicle has been used under conditions not in accordance with those stated in the Owner’s Handbook, (e.g. vehicle overloaded or taking part in any type of sports competition).
The defect found has arisen due to the fact that the vehicle has been repaired or serviced not in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Accidents
Weather and road conditions
Use of non-genuine Renault parts
Environmental damages
Body corrosion arising as a result of any alteration on the vehicle
Normal maintenance services such as engine service
Cleaning and or polishing
Tyres, Wheel balancing, and alignment
Headlight aiming
Replacement of filters
Windshield wiper inserts
Light bulbs
Spark plugs
Drive belts
Lubricants and cooling
Worn pads, drums, and rotors
Worn clutch discs

Renault does offer an addendum to their warranty called Bumper2Bumper that increases coverage for an extra 2 years and has no limitation on kilometres traveled and can be transferred to a new owner.
