Who needs a warranty?.... Its French!
The Peugeot 208 is an excellent choice for new drivers but once they mature a bit, they perhaps want something bigger or better and move onto a mid size SUV or something more professional, like a sedan. This leaves many of these sporty little cars up for grabs and many potential owners wanting to know what the warranty covers. They are, after all, French and many a French brand has something of a reputation locally.
Peugeot South Africa offers a 3 year / 100 000km warranty on all their new cars sold. If you purchase the car, second hand, within that time period the balance of that warranty transfers to you.
The warranty covers the following:
- All parts and accessories supplied by Peugeot, and fitted at the time of the purchase of a new vehicle, will be free of defects in material or workmanship under normal use.
- Warranty begins from the first date of registration.
- Warranty covers consequential damage to the vehicle resulting from a principal defect.
The warranty does NOT cover:
- A repair done outside of the contractual period of the parts warranty.
- Wearing parts such as brakes, clutches, wiper blades and certain drive train components.
- Damage as a result of driver abuse or negligence.
- Tyres which are guaranteed directly by their respective manufacturers.
- Damage caused by natural phenomena.
If you purchase your used vehicle outside of the warranty period you may want to include a third party extended warranty for peace of mind.
