The Tiggo 7 Pro is a pretty popular vehicle. This family SUV is loaded with some advanced tech like voice commands to control various features of the vehicle and that notion of advanced technology spreads to the powerplant too. The engine found in the Tiggo 7 Pro is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol unit producing 108 kW of power and 210 Nm of torque and is linked up to a CVT transmission. The focus here is a smooth powertrain. Apart from the powertrain, the Tiggo 7 Pro interior is lavish and contemporary and hardwearing with tough synthetic leather and carpets. The build quality on the Tiggo 7 Pro feels solid, but what is covered under the manufacturer's car warranty?

What is covered in the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro manufacturer warranty?

As part of the asking price, the Tiggo 7 Pro comes with a 5-year/150 000km warranty from the first registration date and a 1 Million km/10-year Engine warranty. That's a lot of value and assurance. How reliable is this car then? What is covered in the warranties though? We'll start with the Engine warranty.

The Engine warranty applies to the original owner only. The vehicle can only be serviced, maintained, and repaired with Chery original parts by a Chery-approved dealer and service centre. The vehicle must not have missed or never been late for a service and such services and any warranty repairs must be traceable on Chery South Africa's database system. If your vehicle is abroad, you must ensure your Chery dealer is updated every time your vehicle visits a service or repair centre. You can't use your vehicle as a taxi or security vehicle. Those are just a few conditions.

Here's what's covered in the 1 Million km/10 Year Engine warranty:

  • Cylinder Block
  • Crankshaft
  • Intake and Exhaust Camshaft
  • Cylinder Head
  • Intake Valve
  • Exhaust Valve
  • Seat Ring-Intake valve

With the 5-year/150 000km warranty, in addition to the Engine warranty above, other aspects like the gearbox, infotainment and other features of the car will be covered for the 5-year period or 150 000km, whichever comes first.

Limited Warranty

The following items are covered by a limited warranty:

Spares like the clutch disc, spark plug, wiper blades, brake lines and brake shoes come with a 3-month/5000km warranty.

Paintwork Warranty

The Paintwork of the vehicle is covered in the 5-year /150000km warranty and needs to be inspected at every service or annually or at every 15 000km for defects, rust and corrosion. The onus falls on the owner to report any paint defects immediately to a Chery dealer. It is advised to wash the vehicle often, especially inside the wheel arches and vehicle underside.
