Toyota make Vitz SA's most affordable car

Toyota recently launched an X-Cite variant of its Vitz city car, and also introduced a rebate offer in an attempt to make the Vitz South Africa's most affordable car!

Toyota has expanded its Toyota Vitz lineup, reviving the X-Cite badge as seen in the Aygo years back. The Japanese brand claims this model caters to South African buyers seeking an eye-catching, budget-friendly option. Here's what you need to know about it!

Orange theme

The general colour theme with the X-Cite is orange, with orange accents on the lower grille; the side mirrors feature a black, grey, and orange sticker, "X-Cite" badging and orange accents on the protective black side moulding, as well as a rear spoiler. The once predominantly black interior also gets orange accents on the air-vent cowls and the gear frame bracket. The X-Cite come exclusively with a manual gearbox and is available in five colours: Mystic Pearl White, Urban Silver, Dusk Grey, Jet Blue, and Shadow Black Pearl.

Same drivetrain

The same 1.0-litre petrol engine powers the Vitz X-Cite as the rest of the range. The three-cylinder mill offers 49kW and 89Nm, with a claimed fuel consumption figure of 4.4 L/100km.

The rebate

Toyota has announced a promotional rebate offer of R20,001, which is applied to the applied to of the models marked with an asterisk (*) in the following price list. With this rebate in place, the Vitz becomes the most affordable car in South Africa! This promotional offer is subject to terms and conditions and is contingent on stock availability.
