Despite its age, the Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series continues to be a sales success for the Japanese manufacturer, finding favour with car buyers that demand reliability and capability over all else. The Land Cruiser line-up was bolstered early in 2021 with the reintroduction of the 78, a wagon that was removed from the lineup in 2015 but has now returned due to demand. 1.Big diesel and strong gearbox

Powering the 78 models is the exceptionally dependable 1HZ 4.2-litre straight-six diesel engine. It only produces 96kW and 285Nm of torque, however, it is likely that the engine will outlast the car itself. The naturally aspirated diesel can also run on even the poorest quality diesel, making it a fantastic option for those that live or work in remote areas.
