You can expect a more ecological approach with this generation of Dusters, but it still retains much of what people love about this vehicle. So much so that we picked out three things we know you'll enjoy about this vehicle.
1. Frugal Powertrains
Though we had to bid farewell to the popular 1.5DCi diesel engine in the previous Duster, we received a new mild hybrid powertrain in the form of a 1.2-litre turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine hooked up with a 48V hybrid system. Power figures are rated at 96kW / 230Nm, channelled to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption figures are claimed at 5.7 L /100km. Alternatively, a 4x2 non-hybrid variant with a 1.3-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine makes 113kW / 250Nm with power sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Claimed fuel consumption here is rated at 6.5 L /100km.
2. New infotainment screen and system
The updated Duster receives a new 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with a new UI. The screen is also partitioned to allow access to vehicle settings, air conditioning controls and your media interface. This system is found across the range and has wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
3. Ecological materials
The Duster aims to use more ecological materials inside and out. A few of the exterior trim pieces are made of Starkle, which consists of 20% recycled materials. Inside, there's no leather of animal origin in the Duster, and the interior is outfitted with TEP Microcloud material, which makes the interior easily washable and isn't heavy on the environment. The Duster is rather sustainable in that respect.
