The current iteration of the Lexus LX was introduced locally during 2015, however, during November 2020, Lexus South Africa announced updates to the large SUV model. The bulk of the updates happened on the interior of the vehicle, thus the Lexus LX retains most of the styling cues it offered the day it was launched.

Although the large LX shares a platform and other components with the ever-capable, Toyota Land Cruiser 200. The Lexus offers an additional petrol engine option while the Land Cruiser only comes fitted with a diesel motor. 1. Powertrains
As mentioned, the Lexus LX is offered with two engine options, a diesel V8 and petrol V8 and is the only model in Lexus's SUV range to offer these engine configurations. Let us compare the two side by side.

2. Exterior
Upfront features a large trapezoidal grille, a theme seen across all Lexus vehicles. The large grille is flanked by LED headlamps which incorporate Lexus daytime running lights in the distinctive swoosh style. The powerful lights also feature Auto High-Beam functionality which automatically activates the high-beams as longs as there are no oncoming vehicles.
On the sides feature bi-tone 20-inch alloy wheels as standard specification while at the rear, Lexus incorporated an L motif into the rear lights to align with other models in the auto manufacturer's product portfolio.
3. Interior
As you would expect from a Lexus model, the interior is luxurious and feature design elements not only unique to the brand but also the model. As part of the recent update, Lexus introduced a new interior trim option which incorporates lighter, earthy tones and as well as clay and sand-like colours. Centrally features a 12.3-inch display which features options like navigation.
Menu items are selected via the Remote Touch Interface system which acts like a touchpad you would find on a laptop. The driver further benefits from a 4.2-inch colour display situated in the instrument cluster as well as a Heads Up Display (HUD) system which projects information such as audio information, navigation instructions and vehicle speed onto the windscreen.
