Renault has sold over 15 million Clio models over the 30 years they have been selling these hatchbacks. With an unmistakable Euro-French flair and loaded with tech and features the Clio has stood the test of time. However, the latest 5th generation model has failed to capture the South African consumers' attention.

1. Euro NCAP rating
The Clio range was crash-tested in 2019 by Euro NCAP and achieved a 5-Star rating with 96% for adult occupant safety, 89% for child occupant safety, 72% for pedestrian safety and 75% for its safety assistance systems. The Clio provides the most modern and effective active and passive safety systems, including Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Renault LED Pure Vision Headlights, Parking Sensors (Front* & Rear), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), combined with Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).

The new platform offers an enhanced passenger compartment and energy absorption zones, with 6 airbags as standard (depending on model), which feature an adaptive driver airbag that modulates its deployment according to the position of the driver’s seat, a passenger airbag, thorax basin side airbags, and curtain airbags in the front and the back.
