The coupe-esque styling in an SUV shell. The C40 is subtle in its cabin styling but has a lot of thought put into it. One case in point is the stellar infotainment system, which was jointly developed with Google. If you're already thinking about buying a C40 and selling your current car, well start searching AutoTrader today. The C40 Recharge is fully electric with a 78kWh battery with a claimed range of 420km. Peak outputs see 300kW and 660Nm. Safety is assured with something this powerful because we are talking about Volvo here, who are pioneers in the safety subject. With this in mind, what are the top 3 safety features of the C40 Recharge?

1. 5 Star Euro NCAP

The C40 Recharge scored full marks in the Euro NCAP safety assessment. Breaking down some of the main results reveals 92% for Adult Occupants, 89% Child Occupants, 89% for Safety Assistance Systems and finally 70% for Vulnerable Road Users. Rest assured you're more than safe with results like these. You can read the full safety report here.

2. Whiplash Injury Protection System

WHIPS™ is a Volvo safety system the reduces the risk of injury from whiplash in the event of a rear end collision. When impact occurs, the front backrest and head restraint moves with the occupant to support the neck. A nifty system.

3. Side Impact Protection

SIPS™ is another Volvo innovation dealing with side impact protection. This works by displacing the impact energy from a side-collision away from the occupants to the other parts of the car body. The SIPS™ system consists of a strong side structure and inflatable curtain airbags , front seat side airbags and inner-side airbags to protect both the front and rear occupants.
