Iconic is an understatement when we're talking about Toyota's Land Cruiser. This vehicle was one of the off-road pioneers in the African landscape, one of the toughest landscapes of them all. My colleague Chad Lückhoff attended the launch of the latest 70 Series, and you can peruse his thoughts here.

Many improvements have been made to the 70 Series Land Cruiser, but one of the most surprising improvements of all is the introduction of a 4-cylinder turbodiesel 2.8GD-6 engine with 151 kW and 500 Nm. The 2.8GD-6 only makes 1 kW less than the 4.5D-4D V8 engine but produces 70 Nm more torque. Quality of life improvements also extend to upgraded infotainment systems, convenience and safety too. 1. Airbags
Although the 70 Series Land Cruiser has a robust body and all, the driver and passenger airbags are welcome to the range.
2. 2.8GD-6 Safety Package
The 2.8GD-6 models have a comprehensive standard safety package, as mentioned above. This broadens the appeal of the Land Cruiser along with the automatic gearbox, making it suitable for urban driving while still being capable of the rough stuff.
3. Siren / Alarm + Immobiliser
The 70 Series range now comes standard with an immobiliser and alarm-linked wireless Smart Entry system. A Land Cruiser is a desirable vehicle, so rest assured this is one way to deter thieves.
