In 2021 the Audi brand has released an impressive number of new and updated models, one of which is the compact crossover Q2, which now has enhanced styling, better packaging and a simplified model range, making the once expensive Q2 now more appealing to buyers in this segment.
For our purposes today, we will be looking at three trim levels available across the Q2 range locally, namely, the standard, the Advanced and the S line. Our aim is to decide which of these specifications is best.
Powertrain
There is just one engine and gearbox options in the Q2 range, a 1.4-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. All models will sip unleaded at a claimed rate of 6.1 L/100km while the 0-100 km/h takes a claimed 8.8 seconds with the top speed pegged at 213 km/h.
Exterior
The exterior of each Q2 model is quite distinctive, with the standard model featuring 16-inch alloy wheels and the front blade in matching body colour. The Advanced specification model gets 17-inch alloy wheels, the front blade and bumper painted in grey and LED taillights. The S line model gets large 18-inch alloy wheels, front blade painted Platinum grey, the front bumper has a full paint finish while the ride height is some 10mm lower on account of the sports suspension. Both the Advanced and S line package can be ordered with the black styling package too, which colours the exterior trim elements gloss black while adding 19-inch alloy wheels and sports suspension.
Interior
The interior of the Q2 models differs a bit too, with the standard model featuring fabric seats in black while both the Advanced and S line models get sports seats with index fabric upholstery. Both the Advanced and S line models can be specified with the S line interior package which includes trim pieces finished in matte aluminium, various S line logos throughout the cabin, black headliner, stainless steel pedals and aluminium scuff plates with an illuminated ‘S’ logo.
Other options include the Tech package which adds the MMI navigation plus infotainment system, the Audi smartphone interface and the brand’s virtual cockpit. All models can also be had with the Comfort Package which includes an electric tailgate, heated front seats, the storage and luggage compartment pack and two USB ports at the rear.
Specification
All models come with 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, a multifunction steering wheel, an MMI infotainment system with Bluetooth and USB functionality, cruise control, front and rear electric windows, cloth seats, front and rear ISOFIX child seat anchor points, LED headlights and rear Park Distance Control, while other features are optional extras.

Having looked at what each model offers, we would opt for the Q2 in Advanced guise and use the money saved to add to its specification by adding items such as the S line interior package, the Tech Package and the Black styling package.
