When McLaren Automotive pulled the covers off of the MP4-12C in 2009, they summarily ushered in a new era of supercar development. The Carbon fibre monocoque design and flowing lines captured the hearts and minds of enthusiasts the world over. This was the first bespoke McLaren to be produced since the legendary F1 whose production ended in 1998.
The MP4-12C was followed by the 650S and then the 675LT but it was the launch of the 720S in 2017 that set tongues wagging. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 now produced 530 kW (720 PS) and 770 Nm thanks to a host of revisions and refinements. The active suspension was 16 kg lighter than before and faster to respond.
