Three differences between purchasing a used and a new BMW 3 Series.

1. Modern amenities

Automotive technology advances at rapid speed and every year new features are added to a car, while existing features are refined. New(er) cars offer the most recent features and as such, if feature content is important to you, a new car is the way to go.

2. Excellent warranty coverage

When it comes to repair costs, new cars are covered with the most generous warranties available. These new car warranties provide peace of mind over used cars. BMW cars are covered under BMW Motorplan for about 5 years/100,000km. You can purchase a Motorplan Extension before it expires but with a used car it's very seldom that you'll find a 3 Series with a warranty extension. The service costs on a used BMW can be exorbitant at times depending on what parts need replacing.

3. Customized feature content

When purchasing a new car you have the freedom to choose whatever features you want the car to have. As opposed to purchasing a used car, factory customization isn't possible and you have you settle for what the original owner chose for the car. Such features like a sunroof or the colour of the car or any technical driver assist systems that are usually fitted on a new model.
