The Jaguar F-Pace was the first SUV created by Jaguar. Since then we've received the smaller E-Pace and the all-electric I-Pace.
The F-Pace employs technology borrowed from the Jaguar sister company, Land Rover, and as such, the F-Pace shares many similarities with the Land Rover Range Rover Velar. Both vehicles are built on the Jaguar Land Rover iQ-Al modular platform, a platform that is used for the XE as well.

This doesn't mean that there weren't a few updates along the way, so pay attention to the year model and check to see if the F-Pace that you're looking at is equipped with these updates.
1. New range of engines
When the Jaguar F-Pace was released locally in 2016, it was available with a choice of three engines. You could get a 2.0-litre turbodiesel that produced 132 kW, a 3.0-litre turbodiesel that made 221 kW, or you could have a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine that made either 250 or 280 kW, depending on the trim.
In 2018 they introduced their new range of Ingenium engines which included a 2.0-litre turbodiesel and a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel produces 177 kW while the new 2.0-litre petrol makes 183 kW. You are now also able to get a hybrid version that uses a 2.0-litre petrol engine and is boosted by an electric motor for a grand total of 297 kW.
2. Model lineup
The initial model lineup consisted of a Pure model, R-Sport, S and First Edition. Only the 3.0-litre turbodiesel and the 3.0-litre supercharged petrol were available in all four trim levels with the 2.0-litre turbodiesel having to make do with just the Pure and R-Sport trims.
The lineup was later altered and brought inline with the naming conventions of the Land Rover brand. As such, you can now get an S, R-Dynamic SE and R-Dynamic HSE with your choice of engine.
The SVR model, with a 5.0-litre supercharged V8, Checkered Flag, and 300 Sport models were also briefly made available.
3. Improved tech
The initial specification and technology made available to the F-Pace were of a high level, but as with most things, constant improvement is made to technology and safety systems. It was no different in the F-Pace.
The mild 2018 update saw the addition of Forward Traffic Detection that uses the forward-facing camera (part of the Surround Camera System) to alert the driver to potential obstruction in the centre screen.
It also saw the inclusion of the Forward Vehicle guidance system, also part of the Surround Camera System, to help with low-speed manoeuvering. Working in conjunction with the park distance control, the display shows the intended path of travel based on the steering wheel input angle and forward-facing camera.
