Top 3 Jaguar F-PACE features that stand out from the competition.

The F-PACE has become the fastest-selling Jaguar ever. The performance SUV has received more than 70 global awards, including the 2017 World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year titles. That in itself is enough to get the SUV to stand out from the competition. Let’s take a look at what else makes it stand out:
1. 2017 World Car
The Jaguar F-PACE was named the best and most beautiful car in the world at the 2017 World Car Awards. It took a double success for the prestigious titles of World Car of Year and World Car Design of the Year.
Jaguar’s first performance SUV has been the fastest selling model the British automaker has produced and is only the second vehicle to claim the historic double in the 13-year history of the World Car Awards. To win the pair of trophies, the F-PACE saw off the competition in a vote of 75 influential motoring journalists from 24 countries.
“The F-PACE is our first ever SUV but it is clearly recognisable as a Jaguar and for it to win the 2017 World Car of the Year trophy vindicates our decision to bring our unique design principles and dynamic qualities to a new sector of the market,” said Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar.
2. Five-Star Safety Rating
Also in 2017, the F-PACE added a five-star Euro NCAP rating to its 2017 World Car of the Year title.
The performance SUV scored 93% for adult occupant protection, 85% for child occupant protection and 80% for pedestrian protection. The F-PACE features an aluminium intensive architecture with six airbags to create a super-strong occupant safety cell allied with a suite of advanced driver assistance systems. The combination of active and passive safety measures helped deliver an overall Euro NCAP rating of 85%.
The F-PACE then stood out as the ultimate family car because of its award-winning design, innovative engineering, and high safety rating.
Advanced driver assistance systems available on the Jaguar F-PACE include:
- Adaptive Cruise Control with Queue Assist: automatically reduces speed should the vehicle ahead slow down and, once the road ahead is clear, will resume its pre-set speed
- Lane Keep Assist: detects unintentional lane drift and can guide the driver back towards the centre by applying a small amount of counter-steering
- Reverse Traffic Monitor: warns the driver of vehicles, pedestrians or other hazards approaching from either side of the vehicle, providing audio and visual alerts
- Driver Condition Monitor: senses driver fatigue by monitoring steering, brake and accelerator inputs to provide alerts when tiredness is detected
- Blind Spot Assist: alerts the driver to vehicles in, or fast approaching, the blind spot with a flashing warning light and will guide the car safely away if the vehicle begins to change lanes
- Forward Traffic Detection: is able to detect items crossing the path of the vehicle. It then provides a visual warning on the central screen when a potential hazard is detected
3. Jaguar F-PACE SVR, F-PACE 300 SPORT and Chequered Flag special editions
In 2018, the F-PACE received the SVR treatment to make it the fastest and most powerful F-PACE yet. The chassis and aerodynamics were enhanced for maximum driver reward in all conditions.
The F-PACE SVR was engineered by Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). With a 44% uplift in power, the F-PACE SVR’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine produces 405kW and 680Nm, enabling it to reach 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 283km/h.
Jaguar recently announced (March 2019) two distinctive special edition models for its award-winning F-PACE; the performance-focused 300 SPORT and the feature-packed Chequered Flag.
Powered to perform, the 300 SPORT comes with a choice of two 221kW AWD engine options; the 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol and 3.0-litre V6 diesel. The former has 400Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 233km/h, while the latter offers 700Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 241km/h.
The Chequered Flag is based on the R-Sport model and comes with a distinctive interior and an exterior that includes a sport front bumper and striking Gloss Black detailing on the front grille, door cladding, side vents, and roof rails. The Chequered Flag is available in Yulong White, Santorini Black and in the newly introduced colour, Eiger Grey. There’s also a seamless blend of luxurious materials and crafted finishes in the cabin with features including leather trim, meshed aluminium detailing and Chequered Flag treadplates.
The special edition models will be available in the third quarter of 2019 with pricing to be announced closer to the time.
