The Jaguar F-Pace has taken the segment in which it competes by storm, with its svelte SUV looks, aluminium architecture and efficient powertrains. Serving as Jaguar’s flagship product, the F-Pace SVR has all of the hallmarks associated with the Big Cat brand, including a sonorous V8 engine, solid performance, luxury, comfort and elegant looks. An updated version of the SVR has landed on local shores, here are the top 3 differences between the newcomer and its predecessor.

1. Updated bodywork

Keen-eyed observers will note the updated bodywork on the F-Pace SVR, which includes a revised look to the front end. The larger vents and apertures increase airflow to assist in engine and brake cooling while improving aerodynamics. The vehicle’s Cd has been reduced from 0.37 to 0.36 as a result of the update.

2. New Pivi Pro infotainment

Like many of the latest JLR products, the SVR benefits from the brand’s updated Pivi Pro infotainment system. The system features a high-resolution 11.4-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality as well as over-the-air update functionality while improving the look of the SVR’s interior.

3. Performance

The updated F-Pace features the familiar 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that produces the same 405kW but an improved 700Nm of torque. The increase in torque necessitated the fitment of the same 8-speed automatic gearbox used in the XE SV Project 8. The bump in torque coupled with a new launch control system lowers the SVR’s 0-100km/h time from a claimed 4.3 seconds to just 4.0 seconds, while the top speed is 286km/h. In addition to more straight-line performance, the SVR has also had a recalibrated steering system and a new Integrated Power Booster and recalibration for the braking system, improving performance further.
