The GLC Coupe was launched in 2024 by Mercedes-Bens SA, offering those with a penchant for a sloping roofline an option in the mid-size premium SUV segment. Two trim lines are available in the coupe lineup, but which is better?
Before we begin the comparison, we must note that there are four GLC Coupe models with two trim options. The two trim options are Avantgarde and AMG Line, both available in GLC 220d or GLC300d specification. All models feature a 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine with mild hybrid assistance. However, 220d models produce 162kW and 440Nm (+200Nm) while 300d models produce 215kW and 550Nm (+200Nm). Avantgarde

The Avantgarde models come with 18-inch alloy wheels (19-inch on the GLC300d), six airbags, climate control, land departure/lane keep assist, a digitised instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, keyless start, partial cloth/artificial leather seats, USB ports (front + rear), LED headlights, fog lights and daytime running lights, and keyless entry/start, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, front and rear PDC with a reverse camera. Aesthetically, Avantgarde models feature an exterior chrome package, which extends to the front grille, and model-specific alloy wheel designs.
AMG Line

The AMG Line models match the Avantgarde-spec models but come with model-specific 19-inch alloy wheels, an updated radiator grille, black trim along the exterior, and wheel arch cladding finished in the vehicle's body colour. Inside, there are partial suede/cloth and artificial leather seats, metal and rubber-clad driving pedals, and AMG floor mats. A 5-year/100 000km maintenance plan is standard across the range.
So which one is the best?
When looking at the two GLC Coupe trim levels, it is clear that the AMG Line is the more desirable option, and looking at data on our site, it appears that AMG Line models within the Mercedes-Benz range retain slightly more value in the secondary market, signalling their increased desirability.
