Space for activities
Launched at the beginning of 2024, the refreshed BMW X2 is a coupe-styled crossover setting teh trend in its own created segment called SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle). The X2 comes in two variants, the sDrive 18i sporting a 1.5 litre 3 cylinder petrol turbocharged engine churning out 115kW and 230Nm with power being sent to the front wheels via a 7 speed Steptronic Dual Clutch transmission and the M35i equipped with a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine firing out 233kW and 400Nm.

Coupe-styled crossovers are traditionally low on interior space, and the question of how much space you can expect comes up. We examined the data to see how much space you and your passengers could expect when taking your next trip.
Interior space
With external dimensions of 4554mm in length, 1845mm in width and a height of 1590mm, the BMW X2 has a rather roomy front end, but with some clever internal packaging, it manages to eke out as much space inside as possible in the rear despite the sloped rear roofline.
Seating Capacity
That space inside is allotted for five adults, with the outer rear seats having ISOfix fitted for car seats for the kids, but those longer in the torso may struggle with rear headroom.
Legroom and Headroom
With its coupe styling and maximised internal space, the BMW X2 is fairly comfortable for a small to medium-sized family. There is plenty of headroom upfront for the average adult and more than enough legroom for even those who are long in the leg, although rear passengers will have a bit of a squeeze as headroom is compromised by the sloping roof line.
Boot Capacity
The BMW X2 has a boot load volume of 560l, which can be expanded by dropping the rear seats to 1470l; the space given is more than generous enough for everything from golf clubs to the week's groceries and all the kids school equipment.
Verdict
The BMW X2 makes for a great family car and it is more than enough for the average family or active executive, and you should be able to take on most everyday tasks with it as is.
