We look at some of the dimensions of the Alfa Romeo Tonale to find out if the model is roomy enough for your needs.

Buying a Car2 min read

The Tonale is one of the most recent model line-ups to join the Alfa Romeo stable. It slots in just below the slightly larger Stelvio model but solves very similar problems with its SUV body type. The crossover model is available in three derivatives, namely, Ti, Speciale and Veloce. However, all three come powered by a 1.5-litre, turbocharged, 4-cylinder petrol-electric hybrid engine delivering 118 kW and 240 Nm of torque.

From every angle, the Tonale has very distinctive styling especially with the very aggressive frontal design and sets itself apart from its competition. But before you search for new or used Alfa Romeo Tonale models on AutoTrader here or sell your car quickly and easily here for a deposit on the Italian model, let us find out if it is spacious enough for your needs.

How much space does the Alfa Romeo Tonale have?

To get a better gauge of how it compares with its competition, we enrolled the help of the BMW X1 and the similarly priced Audi Q3. The figures in this table were correct at the time of writing this article; however, they can change at any moment and without notice.

Alfa Romeo Tonale BMW X1 Audi Q3
Front head room 98.5 cm 106.9 cm 100.5 cm
Front leg room 105.9 cm 102.6 cm 101.6 cm
Front shoulder room 141.4 cm 142.4 cm 144 cm
Rear head room 97 cm 99.8 cm 95.5 cm
Rear leg room 96.5 cm 93.9 cm 91.6 cm
Rear shoulder room 139.1 cm 139.9cm 139.9 cm
Boot space 500 Litre 540 Litre 550 Litre

Verdict

As seen by the figures above, the Alfa Romeo Tonale only takes the top spot when it comes to the front and rear leg room. The German offerings seem to prioritize the headroom and shoulder orom more, as well as the boot space. However, put into this context and seeing the marginal differences between the three, it is safe to say that the Alfa Romeo Tonale is indeed roomy and will easily accommodate a small family or group of friends.
